Sorry about the time off!

Hey everyone! Sorry about the time off. I have been having problems with downloading pictures on my computer. I will have you all updated on Halloween and Thanksgiving as soon as I resolve the issue.

So tomorrow is Chloe's first birthday! (12/06/07) I can't believe it has been a year already! We are getting ready for the big day. It's going to be a Princess party. Kids, Kids, Kids!!!

So we have survived the first year! What a year it was! We made it through Dislocated hips, thrush, collic, ear infections, colds, diapers, pediatrian appointments and sleepless nights! For those who have kids you know that the list I just gave is VERY small. I just couldn't post everything! Would I trade if for anything in the world? No way! What can I say? She is just beautiful.

So I will be sure to get my pictures done soon to get you all updated. There will be plenty of pictures taken tomorrow I am sure!

Thanks for looking!!

Hannah

So last week we lost a member of our family. Hannah was our 7 year old longhaired dachshund. She ruptured a disk in her vertabrae, freak thing really. The vet tells us that it is unfortunately common in dachshunds. So needless to say, we are missing her terribly.

I wanted to repost a picture from a few months ago with Chloe in her swing. You'll notice Hannah in the background just taking it all in. The other two are just Chloe and Hannah playing.

You never know when your pets will be taken from you. Make the most of the time that you have.

We miss you Hannah.

Crawling, Fantasy Football and Green Day?

So Chloe started crawling this week. WOW! She has become mobile! We are now proud owners of a baby gate, (professionally installed by me, thank you), and many, many, many outlet covers (which by the way are VERY hard to get off!) Yes, I know that is the point! Anyway......

Chloe and Chris accompanied me to my Fantasy Football draft last week. She played, slept a little and even had an alcoholic drink! (I'm talking about Chris! Jeeeezzz) Chloe had a great time also! She got many compliments. I have posted a few pics here.

Lastly........

Now that the Olympics are over, I remember one of the announcers always commenting on just what is it that Michael Phelps was listening to on his Ipod? Well, we never found out. So I will tell you what I am listening to. My current album of choice is Green Day - American Idiot. Very good rock album. (If it keeps you moving while cutting the grass or vacuuming the house, it is good in my book! Seriously, check it out!) What are you listening to? Let me know!

The Christening was a success!

So the Christening was a huge success! My in-laws were up from Florida and had a great time with the baby. Here are just a couple of pictures. I will post more soon. Thanks to my father in- law for these. Here are just a few highlights of the day.....

Chloe loved her little white shoes so much she refused to get them dirty by actually wearing them.

She kept insisting that she wasn't Amish!

Thanks to Chloe's Godmother for making an awsome cake (mmmm homemade frosting)

Thanks to Chloe's Godfather for having to move his truck more than once. (That darn single lane driveway!)

Great food back at the house!

Good times! Good times!

Thank you for all that were able to come, and for all that weren't, thanks for the best wishes!

Time for a Christening and In-Laws!

So Chloe will be Christened on Sunday! My in-laws, Julius and Maria Nagy are coming up from Florida tomorrow for the occasion. Boy are they going to be surprised when they see how big she has gotten! Here is a picture of Maria with Chloe back in February. (Yup, sleeping again!) I will be sure to have some pictures of the special occasion posted soon!

Batman! Finally!

So I was finally able to go see the new Batman movie today! Excellent movie! Worth they hype! Heath Ledger's Joker makes Jack Nicholson's Joker look like a choir boy. So, I said that I saw it. Well, it was a trade off you see.....

I watched Chloe yesterday while Chris was finally able to use that gift certificate that she received for Mother's Day to have her nails done. Well, Chris insisted that I go see the movie today while she watched Chloe. What a great wife! She still wants to see it. Maybe Netflix, maybe not, but I can tell you that I will see it again!
I will also say this. This is an intense movie and not for the young. Yes, Batman is an icon, but do not bring your young children to this movie thinking that you are going to see the cartoon like images that were the mainstay for the TV series. Yes, it appears that you can go to the local Wal Mart or Toys R Us and buy any toy imaginable linked to this movie, but remember, you could have bought those same toys for the very "R" rated Alien in 1978. I am not preaching, just giving an observation.

Anyway, I can't post without talking about Chloe! She has her voice back and is still working on those teeth! Here's a picture of her taken just tonight after her bath!

What a baby!

Summertime in Mystic

Here's a picture of Chloe at the beach just a few weeks back. (Isn't she cute?)

She has been working on more teeth recently, and has now lost her voice! All she can do is squeak! It sounds really sad. She has been keeping us up for the last few nights. Poor kiddo!

Keeping with the Summertime post, I really must recommend a great beer...

Samuel Adams Summer Ale!

Let's just say that I have been enjoying my fair share! This is one of their seasonal beers and won't be around to much longer. If you enjoy a cold one in the Summer, CHEERS!

Words Part 2

So have you figured out which words are real? Drumroll please..............

Binky and Boppy are actual words! (Nice job Cathy Wickerd!)

Binky is a pacifier and a Boppy is a half moon pillow thing that has all kind of uses for baby!

Now those other words and a few others that you will probably only hear in my household....

Bugaloo.......Just a nickname
Burple.........A burp or a bubble! (and they say that there is no word in the English language that rhymes with Purple! I say nay nay!!
Tagaholic and Tagalicious. Babies love Tags! (and dogs love trucks! anyone get that?)

and moving on..........

The two attached pictures are from last Spring. The first one is titled "Baby eats bib! News at eleven!" The second one is from when we first got the jumperoo! She loves it now, but was unsure of it in this picture. So I just put a little Red Sox cap on and took the picture. One of the dogs had to get in the picture too if you look in the background. That's Hannah and she is a Long Haired Daschund. You will be sure to see more of her and Oscar, our other dog whereas they always seem to get in most pictures!

Have any strange words in your home? Let me know!

Words

It's funny how after you have a baby, you're vocabulary seems to change. I have learned many words since Chloe has been here, and heck, we even just make a bunch up! For example..

Binky, Boppy, Burple and Bugaloo. These are all common words in our house. Can you guess which of these two words are real and which two are fake? If you are a parent, its a piece of cake. If you asked me this about eight months ago......Forget it! I'll have the answer for you in the next post!

Birthdays!

So last month was my birthday. (June 6th) Well, coincidentally it was also Chloe's 6 month birthday! (December 6th) We couldn't resist getting her a cake as well! She had fun mangling the side and we had fun watching her do it! Here are just a few pics...

Enjoy!

Batman!

So the new Batman movie is out! It's already breaking all kind of records and getting great reviews! Gee, you know, the wife and I would love to go see it! So, does anyone out there want to babysit? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Oh well....there is always Netflix.

Oh, and for those who are keeping track, Chloe now has two teeth!

Welcome

Hello everyone. Thanks for checking out my blog. Yup, my blog. This is something that I have wanted to do since my daughter was born back in December. I seem to have many thoughts that come to me on a daily basis regarding this whole "Fatherhood" thing and I figured why not share with the masses. Thank you Randall for showing me the ease of having a blog, and the fun of saying exactly what you want.

I will use this outlet to post the latest pictures of her......sorry, for those who may not know...her name is Chloe Elizabeth McCartney, Born on December 6, 2007 at 3:03 AM. (yes AM!!)

I encourage feedback! If you are a parent with a funny story or if there is something that you just want to relate, please do so! I want to hear from you all!
The first picture is actually a couple of months old already but I really like it. My wife (the most patient woman on this earth) and I call this one "Baby Mohawk" You can probably figure it out if you look at her little spike of hair on her head.
The baby bathtub in the picture is already history. Yup, on to the BIG TUB! Splashing is fun!
Anyway, this is the beginning and I hope some of you enjoy it. Please chime in whereas there is always a story to tell.......
Until next time.......
Corey
